Our guiding theory of counseling is Integral Counseling. Through this theory we view the client as being part of a process from birth to death and beyond. The client is seen as being in the process of development and encountering many forms of trials and difficulty that may be painful. We view the goal of therapy as finding meaning, purpose, and practical solutions in the growth and transformation process. We can work with a client in many ways and believe in giving the client options to consider in the counseling, biofeedback, and therapy process. Initially a client will fill out assessments that may evaluate personality, mood, behavior, and mental function. Therapy may consist of counseling, biofeedback, neurofeedback, art therapy techniques, audiovisual entrainment, heart rate variable training and stress management. Work during therapy may range from direct suggestions, homework assignments, and relaxation to exploring meaning through art, play, and understanding spirituality. These techniques are for enhancing the awareness of self regulation and increasing the ability to self regulate. Such as learning to identify and influence mental and physical functions like heart and brain wave activity. We believe in a holistic approach that may include exploration in body, mind, emotions, behavior, and spirit.
